This is a view of what's happening next month so far that we have found. This is not reliable, as some sources don't update their events that far ahead, and we don't fetch that far either -- but as we see them, they'll be here.

@ Basement KEVIN AVIANCE, KIM ANN FOXMAN, KILOPATRAH JONES This Fourth of July, two techno titans bring the fireworks to BASEMENT. Truncate and DJ Hyperactive represent alongside DAIYAH. Truncate is no stranger to BASEMENT. The LA-based artist first launched the alias over fifteen years ago to specifically focus on machine funk techno in its most undiluted form. 2010’s “Contrast” EP showed the project arriving fully formed, with a spare, minimalist aesthetic that revealed the raw power of its materials through patient, considered dynamics. Truncate is rightfully regarded as one of the most significant torchbearers for true school techno in the world today. DJ Hyperactive is a rare peer. The Chicago don is a master of the deep, bumping and captivating side of techno. Channeling his hometown’s singular approach to groove into rugged, no-nonsense propulsion, DJ Hyperactive embodies the timeless promise of dance music. Many claim to be veterans, but Hyperactive truly helped shape dance music’s DNA, even earning a shout out from Daft Punk in their seminal 2001 track “Teachers.” But he’s no throwback; last year, he and Truncate released the absolutely banging “Trust the Process” EP, a collaborative batch that’s as lean and focused as anything in his catalog. DAIYAH has evolved into one of the key architects of the modern NY sound. Although she has a wide range, with sets that address everything from hardcore to minimal Detroit, you know a DAIYAH set from the moment it kicks off. Brazen, seismic percussion sits right at the center, with searing sonics and sending the energy straight into the red.
Kevin Aviance returns to STUDIO. Avinance emerged in the ‘90s as a galvanizing figure. One of the most visible club kids of the era, Aviance pursued a career that pushed house and ballroom to their limits. Songs like “Cunty” and “Rhythm Is My Bitch” are seminal treatises on the pure physicality of dance music, with Aviance right at the center acting as commanding, catalyzing presence. His recent return to the booth has been a welcome new chapter in an already legendary career. Kim Ann Foxman is one of the most consistent and beloved figures in the dance music underground, and her productions embrace the euphoric side of house music, setting jacking percussion against languid and aqueous atmospheres. Her Firehouse label developed as a home for a teeming network of producers whose work touches these same resonant nodes, while her Pleasure Planet collaboration blends her signature sound with bumping new wave. Kilopatrah Jones steps back into the booth to do what she does best. Jones is a leading light of the modern wave of house DJs who are revitalizing the genre. She has a unique capacity to channel pure soul, tapping into house music’s core spirit.

The UK producer has experienced a meteoric rise over the last few years, bringing a fresh take on techy grooves and the euphoric, heavily swung house his home country is known for. Phillips is one of the frontrunners in a new wave of house music, first turning heads with his EP “Smokin” in 2024. The UK artist has become one of the hottest artists in the international club and festival circuit. This marks his Knockdown Center debut. Rising NYC DJ and Producer, Ford Scott opens up the night. @ Basement JULIANA HUXTABLE all night long Juliana Huxtable - one of the genuine icons of the NY rave underground - takes over the room with a very special open-to-close set. This is only the third time we’ve invited an artist to helm the decks for the full night, but Huxtable’s artistry compels it. Before she was a full-time DJ, Huxtable was already a multifaceted and highly accomplished artist, working in visual, text and performance mediums. And it’s this expansive, fearless approach that has made her such a remarkable force as a selector. "DJing is an opportunity to walk people through freedom,” she once said, and you can feel that freedom in every moment of her sets. Huxtable is a certified worldbuilder, fusing genres and jumping across timelines with a burning conviction and sense of creative daring that is all her own. This will be an unmissable night.
“I like music and music likes me.” So says Natuta, founder of the Eau de Cologne event series, which takes place in Horoom at Bassiani. A true free spirit, Natuta harnesses the sublime and the rugged in equal measure, but her house sets stick the landing for sublime grooving club music. She’s an undeniable force on the decks, with a breezy authority that commands the room. Leonce’s mastery of decisive, taut percussion and elegant, bass-weighted minimalism is on another level. Using restraint to its fullest potential, Leonce’s productions are sushi-grade servings of exquisite rawness. If you want to see what confidence looks like, Leonce will show you. The flow continues with Alexis De La Rosa, the Bronx-based artist who channels all the saucy lust that house music has to offer. Distilling the material to its essence, De La Rosa comes in hot with unalloyed, throbbing power.

@ Basement MCMLXXXV, DJ TOOL, PRINCESS PEGGIE Herrensauna celebrates ten years of visionary raving with a lineup of residents and co-conspirators. Since its inception, Herrensauna has stood as a leading light in Berlin. As the city became a more internationally-recognized destination for weekend warriors, Herrensauna emerged as a home for the true freaks. Their outstanding lineups, intimidatingly potent residents and bold, transgressive visuals sent an unmistakable signal: Herrensauna was pushing for something wild, daring, and a little scary. One engaged at their own risk.
MCMLXXXV headlines BASEMENT. He is a modern master of the seething, sleazy and trippy. One of the founders of Herrensauna, no one embodies the party’s deviant, punk energy quite like he does. Each moment in his sets ripples with taut eroticism and defiant provocation. DJ Tool is, of course, a resident at Mala Junta, one of the few peers to Herrensauna. He’s also an affiliate of Copenhagen’s Fast Forward Productions, one of the central hubs of adventurous, sleek and high-octane futurism from the Danish electronic music capital. One of the inveterate bad boys of modern dance music, Tool’s raw, rushing, tunneling sound evokes the most psychedelic corners of the early ‘00s while finding a fresh perspective that’s his alone. NY’s Princess Peggie makes her debut, bringing some fearlessly to-the-point club mayhem. Ramped up tempos, careening grooves, wild-eyed techno and saucy flips? Check, check, check and check.
CEM headlines STUDIO. The Herrensauna co-founder and resident is one of the most adventurous and intuitive DJs working today. Nobody stitches together a set quite as seamlessly as CEM. Unbothered by typical genre constraints, CEM can work masterfully within nearly any rubric. But he can also break away and dive deep into the nooks and crannies of the dubby, glitching, mossy or resplendent. You know it when you feel it. His house sets are particularly special, finding unexpected contours amidst the timeless template. Mexico City’s own Paurro returns. The Cómeme label manager taps into a vein of buoyant, gliding club music with a distinct South American influence. This set will be pure bliss. DJ PT makes his debut. As an artist, he’s been pushing a vision of bold, explosive dance music in the NY underground for the better part of a decade. Unbounded and a bit raw, he’s a perfect match for Herrensauna.

AMÉMÉ is one of the most respected names in afrohouse in the world today, leading a movement of artists who are pushing the genre in vital, new directions. If you were here last year, you know firsthand the communal joy and spirit of celebration that permeates AMÉMÉ's sets. And though he was born in Benin, he made his name in NYC. @ Basement DRUMCELL, STEPHANIE SYKES, THREEHZ The cover for Drumcell’s 2016 album “Absence Of Appropriate Effect” shows a bloody hand with two discarded surgical gloves, set against what seems to be a concrete floor. It’s an apt visual metaphor for his music, which transmutes aggression and confrontation into something mesmerizing and elemental. Since the launch of the alias in 2004, Drumcell has been one of the most lauded artists in the ever-evolving space where noise and techno meet. His discography can be genuinely intense, but it can also be cinematic, beautiful and haunting. Stephanie Sykes brings a similar rigor to her work. A beloved proponent of immersive, hypnotic techno, Syke’s immaculate productions earn instant respect. Her considered discography isn’t saturated with releases, but in true quality-over-quanity spirit, each one is an event upon release. The elusive threehz matches these artists’ mercurial, uncompromising spirit. The NY-based DJ has a long history that winds through experimental electronics, singular sonic worldbuilding and deep collaborative works. This all comes to bear in their DJ sets, which mix cerebral loop techno, evocative textural work and nimble, roiling grooves.
STUDIO comes in hot with a lineup of local legends. The Carry Nation’s immaculate command of the dancefloor is second to none. There is a certain caliber of DJ, where impeccable selection and pristine technique meet pure soul power and a time-tested clarity of purpose. The Carry Nation stands among them. Pillars of the US queer underground, their artistry stands as an inspiration and a loving challenge to free yourself. x3butterfly’s ascent is practically a foregone conclusion. An undisputed natural, x3 harnesses the essence of dance music across its myriad forms. Their STUDIO sets are an inevitable highlight, using both intuition and deep, focused research to worldbuild. Matas threads the needle between careful restraint and brazen attitude. The Earth Dog affiliate is a dreamweaver, casting a sultry spell through billowing, cloudy textures and razor sharp accents.

This July, Psyk makes his BASEMENT debut at Wrecked. As the label boss behind the revered Non imprint, Psyk has played a major role in defining the cutting edge of techno in the 21st century. In his own productions, released on Mote-Evolver, Semantica and Tresor, his sound is quintessential, with a precise balance between light and shadow. Psyk is a master of synthesis as a vessel for mystery and seductive tension and there are few techno DJs working today who couldn’t say they were touched by output and curation. Jason Kendig joins him for a special techno set. Changing lanes from his primary mode as one of the best house DJs working today, the Honey Soundsystem co-founder draws on his extensive, expansive collection for this night. Kendig is a DJ’s DJ, with a unique touch that imbues everything he does with tasteful elegance. Even when he bangs it out. Ryan Smith completes the lineup, balancing the night with a dose of the hard-edged and wild-eyed. Smith transcends genre, and always finds a unique twist. He co-founded Wrecked with a “music first” philosophy, and over fifteen years later he continues to embody the ethos.
Jubilee returns to the room. A notorious party starter, Jubilee’s wheelhouse includes raw breaks, heavy bass, saucy vocals and slithering acid. For reference, see last year’s “Main Character” EP, which soaks in unabashed decadence and uninhibited hedonism. The EP has no compunctions about throwing down, bringing a heavy, bumping sound that can’t help but to set the room off. Honey B joins for the first time. She’s fresh off the release of “HD2,” her collaborative LP with Nextdimensional. “HD2” is a perfectly tuned journey through liquid low end and rolling grooves. Ron Like Hell ties it all together as only he can. One of the greats of our era, Ron’s ability to match the moment is peerless.

@ Knockdown Center (Maspeth) SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE Choir Boy Phantasia SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE and Choir Boy headline The Ruins alongside Phantasia on July 23. Philly trio SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE make their Knockdown Center debut, showcasing some of the willdest, yet prettiest psych-rock of the Era. @ Knockdown Center (Maspeth) DJ HEARTSTRING Effy Ana B DJ HEARTSTRING headlines The Ruins alongside Effy on July 24. The Berlin duo are responsible for some of the most immaculate trance tearjerkers of our modern era. Their own cheekily-branded Trance Dance Music genre (TDM, for short) brings together the full sugar rush euphoria that made trance a global industry at the end of the '90s, while fusing it with a modern pop sensibility. They take the reigns as the sun starts to drop in the sky. They're joined by a special lineup that matches their signature energy. UK phenom Effy returns, bringing a potent mixture of rude, junglist mania and soaring moments of pure, unadulterated bliss. She lands on the back of a banner run that includes her standout EP "The Syndicate." Ukrainian techno sorceress Ana B is known for her canny versatility and range. Although she's notorious for her late night sets, Ana B is equally adept with more expansive, lush and grooving dance music. She's an artist with a long history at Knockdown Center, and returns to the venue for this special daytime set. This will be one to remember.

@ Basement PHILIPPA PACHO, NEWA, HOLDEN FEDERICO Philippa Pacho leads a lineup of quintessential BASEMENT artists. Pacho’s unrelenting, tensile sound perfectly captures the headrush energy of late ‘90s techno. And yet, she remains completely cutting edge, finding the timeless in the modern. This ethos is reflected in her curation for her Phorum Records, which has been issuing one critical slab after another. BASEMENT’s own resident Newa keeps it real. The Georgian producer balances finely honed focus with expansive exploration, finding pockets of devious strangeness in the midst of an immaculately propulsive set. News’s credentials are widely recognized - she’s also a resident of Bassiana, and she’s back in the room following their takeover last May. Holden Federico draws out every ounce of expressive power from taut, linear techno. His original tracks percolate with decisive power, while his sets stand on his unwavering pacing and unimpeachable selections.
The Spectrum returns to STUDIO for another takeover. The iconic queer collective has been responsible for some of New York’s most radical and forward-thinking nightlife projects, including two landmark venues that brought together a generation of artists, club kids, fashion designers, performers, and electronic music DJs. Their spaces became hubs for community, creative experimentation, and aesthetic radicalization, helping define the zeitgeist of their time while leaving a lasting impact on the city’s cultural and musical landscape. Now, the core organizers are bringing their vision and flavor to STUDIO.
Very special lineup to be announced soon.

@ Basement SHAUN J.WRIGHT, COLORED CRAIG, NAT WENDELL UFO95 returns to the room for a live set. The French artist described his recent “Dissolution” EP, released on his own TSSRCT label as inhabiting “a territory where noise meets precision.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Across its four tracks, UFO95 displays his mastery as a sonic sculptor. All his work is constructed with a rigor and clarity of purpose that is matched only by his flair for raw, emotionally-charged gestures. His live sets have appeared at nearly every techno venue of consequence, and in addition to his self-released material, his work has found a home on such legendary imprints as Tresor, Mord and WSNWG. Altinbas makes his debut. The Belgian artist is a resident at the Brussels hub Fuse, where he has honed his elegant, spacious sound. Across a string of releases on Ostgut Ton, Token and Non Series, Altinbas crafts pure, linear techno that hits with supple power. Cotton returns to freak the system. Of the generation of DJs who seized control over the last half decade, Cotton has emerged as one of the most interesting and unique. A true powerhouse, Cotton can balance bracing impact with the exploratory and uncanny in surprising ways.
Shaun J. Wright drops in to deliver an unimpeachable masterclass. Wright embodies house music’s soaring, bombastic and galvanizing spirit. At its core, house is a music that demands liberation through movement, and Wright is a direct inheritor to that lineage. Raised in Chicago, Wright’s music and DJ hit with an urgency that is paradoxically timeless - the urgency of the human soul’s vital need for unrestrained expression. Colored Craig is a fellow traveler and a kindred spirit to Wright. Having recently moved from LA to NYC, Craig has upped the ante of soulful, sensuous house music for the rest of us. A choreographer as well as a DJ, Craig grasps the essence of movement and corporeal sensation in a way few can. In his hands, tracks come alive, blooming with a freshness that feels revelatory. Nat Wendell seals the deal. Returning to the room from his home in Berlin, the London-born artist tweaks the formula with a perfect, tough-and-tender flair. His hometown is known for its particularly affecting sense of defiance, a posture that winds through everything from punk, acid house, drum n bass and grime. Wendell captures this ineffable spirit in his own way, You’ll know it when you hear it.

@ Knockdown Center (Maspeth) bar italia Operelly Threshold bar italia headlines The Ruins on July 30. Matador's indie darlings Bar Italia headline The Ruins. Following an early run of mysterious, hazy song craft, last year's "Some Like It Hot" saw the London trio pivot into crisp, punchy pop. Songs like "Cowbella" made a beeline as contenders for track of the year, showing the group operating at new creative heights. They're joined by Operelly and Threshold.

@ Basement LARS HUISMANN, LINDSEY HERBERT, AUSPEX Lars Huismann returns to BASEMENT to headline Altær. Hard as nails and laser focused on throttling power, Lars Huismann delivers high velocity techno in its purest form. Last year’s aptly-titled “Mechanized” EP on Dax J’s Monnom Black label shows him operating at the peak of his powers. Every moment lands with impunity - all killer no filler. Huismann still located surprising pockets of emotional resonance amidst the chaos. Lindsey Herbert returns. Herbert’s track record of hypnotic, shapeshifting loop techno is unimpeachable. Her releases on Truncate, Ascetic Limited and others are consistent standouts, with a carefully dialed sound that often warps Herbert’s own voice to uncanny effect. Altær founder Auspex completes the lineup. Across his sets, curation, and growing Templum label, Auspex locates the seismic and tectonic in controlled movements and carefully contorted shapes.
STUDIO hosts a special b2b: Jason Kendig goes head to head with Will Automagic. These two should get along nicely. Both have moved through the same scenes over the past two decades, each blazing similar trails as key architects of modern queer nightlife. Between Kendig’s involvement with Honey Soundsystem and Automagic’s tireless curation for The Carry Nation, you would be hard pressed to find a dancer today who hasn’t been touched by their work. Cosmo returns to STUDIO. One of NY’s premier classic house selectors, Cosmo basks in the radiant joy that made the genre so revolutionary. Ryan Farr makes his debut, channeling pure, libidinous joy. A regular of NY’s queer underground, Farr’s bombastic approach is a perfect fit for the night.
